Audi Fashion Festival 2014 - Opening Show by Prabal Gurung

Thanks to Willabelle, Singapore Airlines and Dentsu Mobius, I managed to get 3 tickets to the opening show. So I got Jason and Jasmine to go with me and met Nellie there since she was going alone. It was such a privilege and though we did not manage to get the front row seat as promised. I must say, that the experience was tremendous. I would love to attend more of such events!

That day was a major rush for Jason and I. We left the office earlier to meet the folks from Dentsu Mobius and then we rushed home to prepare. After which we left for my hair appointment at Vim. When we finally met Nellie outside the Tent@Orchard, we were panting and perspiring already. Waited for the doors to open and we got stuck at the registration counter trying to have our front row seats sorted, which didn't happen. We (Kristin, Siqi, Nellie, Jason, Jasmine and I) were separated and got 2nd and 3rd row respectively but it was not a bad seat since they were elevated. I still managed a couple of good shots!

Enjoy the photos!
Caught gorgeous Rachel outside while she was waiting for Viola!
Our 2nd fashion show together! Looking forward to more!

Got inside and snapped more photos!
Taken from http://wardrobetrendsfashion.com/audi-fashion-festival-2014-day-one/! Thanks WTF!

Prabal Gurung showcased his collection of AW14 and he not only looks really charming, this young man is also super talented! I really love how he effortlessly creates clothes to cater for the female form with this immaculate balance of softness and modernity. Looking at the clothes on the runway makes me wanna wear his designs regardless of the humidity and heat in Singapore! This collection is filled with drapes, patchwork, cutouts, wool and knit and I especially love the gowns!

Here are some of my favorites!

We had our private photo-taking session after the show and saw Dawn Yang, Willabelle and Dick Lee!
My gorgeous company for the night!

Gotta run! I'll be back with some interesting news and yes! Do vote for me if you haven't and I hope you have gotten your tickets to watch the STUFF Cover girl Search Finals next thursday! See you then!

The Long Ride 2014

Being a woman and also prone to this killer cancer at any point in my life, I feel the importance to be able to help, reach out to and increase the awareness of Breast Cancer and how we can prevent it.

Breast Cancer in Asia is becoming increasingly concerning as there are currently more women in Asia dying from breast cancer than in the Western countries. This could be due to inherent cultural factors that cause women in Asia to not come forward for treatment or even screening for early detection of breast cancer. Which now explains the reason I'm writing this post.

A woman's probability of getting breast cancer can be attributed to the following risk factors:
- Gender
- Age
- Family history
- Hormones
- Diet
- Lack of Physical Activity
- Alcohol consumption
- Previous history of breast cancer and benign breast disease

However having said that, four in five women diagnosed with breast cancer have no known risk factors. That's the reason why women are then recommended this breast cancer screening schedule. Make sure you do your own self-examination or visit your trusted gynaecologist, any GP clinic or Polyclinic!

So back to The Long Ride, it is a journey by 2 breast surgeons, Dr Mikael Hartman and Dr Philip Lau, from Singapore, riding their motorbikes from Singapore to Stockholm, Sweden for breast cancer awareness and to raise funds for Asia breast cancer research.
The doctors ready to set off in Singapore!

Along the way, there will be conference stops at certain cities. So far, they have stopped by Penang (Malaysia), Chiangmai (Thailand), Kunming, Luzhou (China) and now in Almaty (Kazakhstan). Depending on the local program, the doctors will usually give lectures, participate in panel discussions, or attend symposiums, and almost always with press conferences and coverage.
At the Laos-China border

They have also partnered with a team of anthropologists from University of Copenhagen, headed by Dr Cynthia Chou, to look at this problem from an anthropological perspective. Dr Chou's team has already started on patient interviews in China, particularly in Kunming and Luzhou where she also attended our events there.

So here I am feeling the need to help the doctors with The Long Ride 2014, hoping to be able to reach out to more women (and men) in Asia to bring to light this urgent issue. Do spread the word if you have read my post and also remind one another about going for screenings! I, too will need to go for mine too!

Hair Talk - Salon Vim

Thanks to Salon Vim, I have had manageable hair since 2 years ago. Now that I've jumped into the bandwagon, I feel obliged to share with you the wonderful hair services that I've been pampered with since I've been visiting Salon Vim.

I met my new stylist, Ivan last month and he carefully diagnosed the main problem of my scalp. It had dead skin coagulated over the years so during my first consultation with Ivan, he pointed out this scalp treatment that I must do, which included a relaxing massage by Julia. I couldn't ask for more, especially when I had been having constant neck aches, the massage came at the right time.

After the scalp treatment, my hair was ready for my first coloring! Ivan recommended warm brown base with honey brown ombre since it was my first time and I had wanted safer colors to start with. I must say, it's really addictive seeing these colors on my hair now I'm craving for more now. LOL! So tadah! Here's the result after another treatment after the hair color is completed!
Right after that, I don't know how this picture turned out so dreamy..
Ivan gave me some products to try too, for my scalp, and coloured hair mask and serum.
Just when you think your hair will look different after you wash the next day, well, turned out my hair looks even better the following day!

Weeee! So happy with the results! I went back to Ivan 2 weeks later to get my roots rebounded. This time I remembered what treatment was given to me! The treatment was done right after my rebonding.
Smallest orange tub - for deep penetration of nutrition, anti-dryness, provision of protein substance and increment of nutrition level
Maroon/purple bottle - adding of constitutive substance to hair and makes hair denser and thicker
Green Masque Force Architecte - mask for brittle and damaged hair

I think I look very cool here no?

We had a chat with Gary since we were the last to go, and took a last shot with Gary before we ended the night! I'm looking forward to my next appointment in the new salon! Whhoooop!
